Emergency Resilence Planning: Hunua, Ararimu, Paparimu Valleys
There is ongoing work within our community to stay emergency ready. HAPRVA is building a plan for the wider communities that detail what to do in the event of an emergency.
We have received funding from Auckland Council for a range of community initiatives to keep our rural community safe, including the emergency plan, which will be tailored to suit the individual needs of our three valleys. We need to hear your experiences of major storms, droughts, fires and other emergency events.
We are reliant on local knowledge so that the plan is robust. This includes:
- Threats/hazards to the community
- Warning systems
- Where to go in the event of an emergency
- Communication plan with roles and responsibilities
- Contact us to learn more: contact@hapvra.nz
- The first stage will be for the team to review
- Hazards profile: water, land faults, etc.
- Resources: what is available, where. Who needs what.
- Contact list: each of our communities needs an up to date list
